In-person testing is the preferred option for many people who need to take the GED test. In-person testing takes place in monitored test environments at test centers, colleges and other educational facilities across the country. Currently you are not allowed as many immediate attempts on the on line GED test as you are with an in-person test if you don't pass. If you don't pass after two attempts, you will need to wait 60 days to schedule another on line test. Individuals under 18 years old but at least 16 years old who have not been out of school one calendar year must qualify for an under 18 age waiver to take the GED tests; or be enrolled in the Michigan Youth Challenge Program ; or have been home schooled and the home school facility is registered with the Michigan Department of Education.
