View All Critic Reviews Mar 14, The Ensemble is as Outstanding as always and as in every season we've got some guest additions to the Cast, like the great Linda Cardelini.

The Screenplays and all of the Characters and their personal stories are as absorbing as always. All of the Production Values are still great and you can really see how everything changes from Season to Season.

Sylvia Rosen is annoying as hell and useless probably the lowest point of this season. Normally Don is an asshole but he keeps his composure and tries to be smart about it. For most of this season he acted like a freaking moron. They turned him into irresponsible prick who's never happy instead of the silent and organized womenizer who never loved anyone except Anna.

I never liked Betty but for the first time I think Don was more annoying to watch. Well aside from season 6 the rest of the serie is a peace of art. Guillermo P. Mar 02, After two of the best seasons in show history, the Sixth Season of "Mad Men" starts off a bit slow. For the first episodes it doesn't really seem like anything is happening, or when things do happen they don't seem all that consequential. In short order, however, as only a show like this can seem to do, all of a sudden the drama comes together again to make for marathon viewing.

As usual, this show is best when centered around Don and his family s. An entire episode is even devoted to Don's relationship with his now-growing son. Even Betty January Jones returns again for a key character arc towards the back end of the season. Of course, the ensemble cast is still a delight. Viewers are now so invested in the characters that we want to "see how it all turns out".

Photographer James Jowers captured this image of the famous local in Of course, matters, and Mad Men will have much to draw from, even if it again doesn't make it past spring. The assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. The assassination of Robert F.

Kennedy comes two months later. In New York, Columbia students shut down the University. There are riots at the Democratic National Convention. Richard Nixon wins the presidency. And, of course, the way Mad Men approaches major cultural events is often subtle. It's a show that cares as much—or more—about its characters as the distinctive time period in which they live, so events tend to take a backseat to their story lines.

It's no use guessing how Don and Megan might hear about RFK's death assuming they are still even together , at least if you use as a template the season three episode "The Grown Ups," which dealt with JFK killing: Roger's daughter got married, Betty sees Lee Harvey Oswald get shot on television, and then she pushes Don away.

And still it's difficult not to wonder what, exactly, will mean to Mad Men. This is the end of the era in which men like Don Draper thrived. Now that the season is underway we have even more questions: Will someone start to protest? Meanwhile, Harry makes his power play while Joan has more trouble with the secretaries. S6, Ep5. Set among the events surrounding Martin Luther King's assassination, Peggy tries to get a new apartment, Ginsberg is set up on a date, and Don has a revelation during his weekend with the kids.

S6, Ep6. As the firm prepares to go public, Don and Pete's actions cause them to lose two huge clients. However, Roger uses a new connection to put them in position to gain their biggest client ever. S6, Ep7. Things quickly become awkward after the two firms merge, Don asserts his dominance over Sylvia, Pete has to deal with his ailing mother, and Bob Benson helps out a sick Joan. S6, Ep8. The creative department has a wild, drug-influenced weekend as they work on the Chevy account, Don has trouble letting go of Sylvia, and Sally walks in on an unwelcome intruder.

S6, Ep9. Here's what we know about Mad Men 's sixth season so far:. Season 6 will be Mad Men 's penultimate season In an interview with The Daily Beast , Weiner confirmed that Mad Men will end after its seventh season, which means there are just 26 episodes left in the series. But Weiner also stresses that season 6 will have its own distinct arc, even as he looks ahead to Mad Men 's ultimate ending. So I would just use all the story I had," says Weiner. At least some of the season premiere will be set in Hawaii The vast majority of Mad Men 's narrative is set in New York.

The season 6 premiere, however, will reportedly take Don and his wife, Megan Jessica Pare , to the sandy beaches of Hawaii. It remains unclear why the characters have embarked on a tropical vacation, but photos at The Huffington Post reveal that Don is still a smoker and that Megan enjoys fruity blue cocktails.
